Taranto Cruise Port is the company that manages the general services of the logistics platform for cruise ships in the port of Taranto and which has recently built the new Terminal on S. Cataldo pier. Since May 2021, Taranto Cruise Port has been part of Global Ports Holding (GPH), the world's largest cruise port operator.
Founded by the Spartans in the eighth century BC, Taranto boasts a thousand-year history that has seen it excel in the Mediterranean Sea thanks to its strategic position, which still today makes it one of the main commercial ports of the area. Located in Puglia, in southern Italy, on the north-western end of the Salento region, it is known as "the City of the two seas", due to its peculiar position between the Great and the Small seas. In the first, near the Cheradi Islands, in front of the city, a historical population of dolphins, symbol of the city for millennia, lives and thrives.
Taranto Cruise Port is able to safely host even the world's largest cruise ships for transit and turnaround operations, thanks to its large docks picturesquely located at the gates of the Small sea, near the "Borgo Antico", the oldest district of the city.
A nascent destination full of fervent dynamism, Taranto is currently the fulcrum of numerous growth projects, which also involve the port and its area dedicated to cruise tourism: work has already begun on the new "Falanto" terminal, a futuristic structure that will be able to support intense transit and turnaround traffic flows and which will face a new quay (Sporgente East) perfect for hosting large cruise ships.
In Taranto you will discover a destination beyond your imagination, made of sun, sea, unspoiled nature, landscapes that taste of Greece, typical Italian cuisine, together with the vitality of one of the oldest regions in Italy!
